Inter Milan eye move for Noussair Mazraoui

Serie A giants Inter Milan are considering making a move for Noussair Mazraoui, according to Calciomercato.

With the club needing to navigate their current financial cul-de-sac, Inter are planning to part ways with Denzel Dumfries amid links of a move to Manchester United and Chelsea.

Potential replacements are already being weighed up and Mazraoui has emerged as a likely candidate over the last couple of weeks.

Since moving to Bayern Munich from Ajax, the 25-year-old has struggled for regular game time, making just six league starts this term.

The recent arrival of Joao Cancelo on loan from Manchester City has also put Mazraoui’s position in the starting XI under further threat, and he could well be on his way out of Allianz Arena.

Mazraoui showed his quality at the 2022 World Cup as he helped Morocco become the first-ever African side to reach the last four of football’s biggest tournament.

Capable of filling in at either full-back position, Mazraoui would be a decent addition for Inter, who will be looking to bounce back from what has been a relatively disappointing campaign despite success in the Italian Super Cup against city rivals AC Milan.

Inter are 13 points adrift of runaway leaders Napoli in the race for the Scudetto and have also reached the semi-final of the Coppa Italia.

A Champions League knockout clash against Porto also awaits. However, the Nerazzurri’s immediate concern is their clash against Sampdoria tomorrow, where they will try to make it four straight wins and an eighth across all competitions since the turn of the year.
