AC Milan make enquiry about Bradley Barcola

AC Milan won’t put a stop to their recruitment spree after completing a double swoop for Chelsea duo Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic.

Up-and-coming Lyon winger Bradley Barcola has become the latest transfer target for the Rossoneri, according to Calciomercato journalist Daniele Longo.

The Italians have only recently defeated Les Gones in the race to land Pulisic after the United States forward rejected the French club to join Stefano Pioli’s troops.

However, the 24-year-old American comes in to take Brahim Diaz’s place after the Spaniard ended his three-year stint to return to his parent club Real Madrid earlier this summer.

Milan are in the market for another attacking reinforcement as they aim to cut ties with expensive flop Charles De Ketelaere and underperforming Junior Messias.

They hope to use the latter as a makeweight in a deal to sign Torino wing-back Wilfried Singo, while the former could make a Premier League switch after drawing interest from Aston Villa.

With potentially two attacking departures on the horizon, they’ve set their sights on Barcola following the 20-year-old’s eye-catching breakout season.

Alongside Rayan Cherki, the French-Togolese winger was one of the Ligue 1 revelations last term, mustering five goals and nine assists in 26 league appearances for Lyon.

But while Lyon have no interest in selling Cherki amid growing speculation linking him with a mega-money move to Chelsea, Barcola could be free to go for the right price.

The highly-rated youngster has another three years remaining on his contract, meaning Lyon can negotiate a hefty compensation fee if they opt for a sale.

De Ketelaere’s departure could be the only way Milan can keep up with Les Gones’ asking price, given their well-documented lack of funds despite Sandro Tonali’s transfer to Newcastle United.

Even if they collect the money, the Rossoneri would still have to outfox Paris Saint-Germain, who are also keen to deprive Lyon of Barcola’s services this summer.
