Roma in advanced talks to sign Leeds United right-back Rasmus Kristensen

Roma are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Leeds United right-back Rasmus Kristensen on loan.

Gazzetta Dello Sport claim the 25-year-old could fly to Rome before the end of the week to complete his move.

The Dane’s contract has a clause that allows him to temporarily leave the English club if they are relegated to the second tier.

Kristensen arrived at Elland Road from Red Bull Salzburg in a £10 million deal last summer.

He failed to make a huge impact at the club but featured regularly for the first team, making 30 appearances in all competitions.

However, he is now on the brink of sealing a move to Roma.

The Italian outfit reached the Europa League final last season, where they eventually lost on penalties to La Liga club Sevilla

They also finished sixth in the Serie A table, thus missing out on Champions League qualification.

Roma have been very active in the summer transfer window as they aim to improve next term under manager Jose Mourinho.

They want to sign Kristensen as a replacement for Rick Karsdorp, who is expected to leave Stadio Olimpico this summer.

The Denmark international primarily plays as a right-back but can also be deployed as a right midfielder.

He will add depth to a defence that conceded 38 goals in Serie A last term.
