Inter Milan plot Antonee Robinson swoop

Inter Milan are preparing to make a move for Fulham’s Antonee Robinson, according to The Sun.

A fee of about £20 million is being discussed as Simone Inzaghi’s men aim to acquire the services of a new left-back.

Robin Gosens’ future at the Stadio Guiseppe Meazza is looking unclear at the moment so it is no surprise that Robinson has been earmarked as a transfer target.

With Inter currently trailing Serie A leaders Napoli by 11 points at the top of the league standings after just 15 rounds of matches, January reinforcements are a must for the Nerazzurri off the back of a relatively underwhelming start to the current campaign.

While Robinson is unlikely to become a regular member of the lineup at Inter should he secure a move in the next window, the 25-year-old would provide ample competition for Federico Dimarco, who has nailed down a starting berth.

Robinson came so close to joining Inter’s biggest rivals AC Milan during his time as a Wigan Athletic player back in 2020 before a late issue during his medicals saw the deal collapse.

The aforementioned issue was later discovered to be false and Robinson went to sign for Fulham seven months later.

He has since impressed for Marco Silva’s men with his constant threat down the left flank en route to his side’s promotion to the Premier League after winning the Championship last season.

Currently on duty with the United States at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Robinson has helped them pick up two points against Wales and England.

He will now seek to help Gregg Berhalter’s men secure safe passage into the knockout phase of football’s biggest tournament in his nation’s final group outing against Iran on Tuesday.
