Inter Milan to submit an improved offer of €35m to Chelsea over Romelu Lukaku transfer

Inter Milan are planning to submit an improved offer for Romelu Lukaku as talks continue with Chelsea over the Belgian’s transfer.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Nerazzurri will increase their bid to €35 million having seen a €25m offer rejected by the Premier League club.

The Belgian striker returned to Stamford Bridge after his two-year loan stint at the San Siro expired this summer.

However, the Blues are willing to offload the player as part of a squad overhaul this summer.

They have not budged from their €40m valuation, which is proving to be a significant hurdle for Inter in negotiations.

Chelsea want to sell Lukaku to Al-Hilal – who have proposed a massive offer – but the striker is keen on a move to Saudi Arabia.

Inter have not given up on their pursuit and are gradually making progress in the transfer talks with the hope of getting the green light from the Premier League giants.

The 30-year-old was part of the Nerazzurri side that secured third place in Serie A last season and finished runners-up in the Champions League.

He came under scrutiny for his lacklustre performance in the final against Manchester City, missing several good chances.

Inter have confirmed the transfers of Marcus Thuram and Davide Frattesi in the summer transfer window. Marcelo Brozovic has joined Al-Nassr.

Andre Onana is also on the verge of moving to Manchester United, who have finalised an agreement with Inter over a transfer.
