Barcelona set to play Tottenham Hotspur in the Joan Gamper Trophy

Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur will face each other in the Joan Gamper Trophy this summer.

Radio Catalunya have revealed the two teams will meet on August 9, with Tottenham replacing Lazio in the annual challenge match.

Barca returned to training on Monday, and they will jet off to the United States for their pre-season tour next week.

The Spanish giants start with a clash against Juventus at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on July 22.

They will subsequently face off against Arsenal before taking on Real Madrid in a mouthwatering El Clasico at the AT&T Stadium.

The Blaugrana’s final game will see them square off with AC Milan on August 1 before meeting Tottenham in the Joan Gamper Trophy.

Spurs, who endured a disappointing 2022-23 season, also have a busy pre-season schedule.

They will travel to Australia to go head-to-head with West Ham United at the Optus Stadium on July 18.

A friendly with Leicester City follows at Rajamangala Stadium before they take on AS Roma at the Singapore National Stadium on July 26.

Ange Postecoglou’s side also have a home fixture against Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk on August 6.
