Al-Hilal preparing €70m bid for Man City star Bernardo Silva

Al-Hilal preparing €70m bid for Man City star Bernardo Silva

Al-Hilal are preparing a mouth-watering proposal to lure Manchester City forward Bernardo Silva to Saudi Arabia this summer, according to CBS Sports.

Silva’s long-term future at Man City remains uncertain, with the Portuguese forward keen to explore new options, but it is understood a move to the Middle East is not in his plans.

However, that has not deterred Al-Hilal from pressing on with plans to snap up Silva amid reports claiming they are readying a €70 million bid for the mesmerising winger.

Man City manager Pep Guardiola has been open about his desire to keep Silva at the Etihad Stadium, but the club will not stand in his way if a suitable proposal arrives.

The Cityzens will demand a fee north of €100m to part ways with the former AS Monaco man, who is also a long-term target for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Man City could be open to negotiating a fee if Silva remains adamant about a summer exit, but the Saudi-based club will have to convince the versatile forward to ditch Europe and move to Asia.

Al-Hilal are prepared to offer Silva a salary package worth an eye-watering €50m a year – a proposal which vastly eclipses what he currently earns in Manchester.

They are reportedly confident of winning the race to capture Silva’s signature, with PSG currently embroiled in a Kylian Mbappe transfer saga, while Barca cannot fund a move for the winger.

Al-Hilal have already signed Ruben Neves from Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer while they are also closing in on a €40m move for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Meanwhile, Chelsea forward Hakim Ziyech has formally rejected Al-Nassr’s revised contract proposal after the Moroccan failed his medical examinations.

Ziyech had agreed a three-year deal with the Riyadh club, but they decided to reduce their initial offer by 40% after medical tests displayed concerning results over the Moroccan’s knee and hip.

The transfer has now fallen apart, but their Saudi-based counterparts Al-Ahli could swoop in for Ziyech’s services if they fail to land primary target Riyad Mahrez from Man City this simmer.
