Tottenham table fresh contract offer for Harry Kane amid interest from Bayern & PSG

Tottenham Hotspur have ramped up their efforts to hang on to striker Harry Kane amid interest from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

According to the Guardian, Spurs are hoping to convince the England international to commit his long-term future to the club and have tabled a new contract offer.

They have made a massive contract proposal to Kane that would significantly improve his current £200,000 per week salary package.

However, the 29-year-old has no immediate intention to pen new terms and will certainly not do so while the transfer window remains open.

Kane is subject to interest from Bayern and PSG, with the latter ramping up their efforts to lure him away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in recent weeks.

The Bundesliga champions are keen to sign an elite striker this summer, and manager Thomas Tuchel is personally spearheading the hunt for Kane.

He was previously interested in the Spurs talisman during his time as Chelsea manager, but the North Londoners were unwilling to sell their best player to a local rival.

Bayern submitted an official proposal for Kane worth €70 million plus add-ons to Tottenham last week, but they wasted no time rejecting the offer as they consider the striker untouchable.

Although Spurs’ official stance is that Kane is not for sale, it is believed an offer of over £100m could force the club’s chairman Daniel Levy to shift his stance on the player’s long-term future.

Kane will enter the final year of his contract with Spurs at the start of the new season, but the club insist they will not part ways with England’s all-time highest goalscorer this summer.

Having missed out on European qualification for the first time in over a decade, Spurs are aware their chances of returning to the continental stage are significantly reduced in the absence of their talisman.

Tottenham are seemingly willing to gamble on losing a player of Kane’s calibre for nothing at the end of next season.

But they remain hopeful that the Englishman will choose to continue his career at the club.
