PSG in advanced talks to sign Manchester City target Gabri Veiga

Paris Saint-Germain are looking to hijack Manchester City’s pursuit of Gabri Veiga after overtaking the Premier League giants in the transfer race.

As reported by Foot Mercato, PSG are in advanced talks to sign the Celta Vigo star and are hopeful of getting his medicals done this week.

PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos has been instrumental in the deal since he holds a similar position at the Spanish club concurrently.

The Ligue 1 giants must have also benefited from Veiga’s agent Pini Zahavi, who has close ties with PSG.

Chelsea and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest, but PSG have acted fast for Veiga, who has a release clause worth €40 million in his contract.

The 21-year-old gained wider attention following his impressive breakout campaign last season, where he netted 11 goals and four assists in La Liga.

Veiga is currently part of the Spanish national team in the U21 European Championship, with La Roja recently advancing to the semi-finals.

Signing the Spaniard would be a great piece for business for the Ligue 1 giant,s as he is regarded as one of the finest young talents in Europe.

His knack for creativity and scoring goals would make him a valuable addition to PSG.

PSG have been hectic in the summer transfer market, striking deals for Marco Asensio, Manuel Ugarte and Lucas Hernandez.

Luis Enrique’s official announcement as PSG’s head coach is expected soon, and the Spaniard’s handpicked target to reinforce the attack is Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix.
