The Premier League season is over with Manchester City once again crowned the champions of England.
Arsenal mounted a brilliant title challenge after an impressive start to the campaign, losing only once until the World Cup break.
However, several injuries towards the end of the season meant they couldn’t maintain their levels, picking up three defeats from their final six matches.
The Gunners’ late collapse and City’s spectacular run of form in 2023 saw the league trophy heading to Manchester once again.
Mikel Arteta’s side will be aiming to mount another title challenge as they are targeting some high-profile players in the 2023 summer transfer window.
Manchester United bounced back under Erik ten Hag last term, finishing third in the Premier League. The final Champions League spot was taken by Newcastle United.
The 2022-23 campaign proved to be a massive disappointment for Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, with the three sides finishing fifth, eighth and 12th respectively.
The new season will begin in August, so there is plenty of time left before the players return to the football field.
However, fans will not lack for football action with the Premier League pre-season just around the corner.
We look at the best pre-season fixtures to watch in July.
