Juventus finalise agreement for Lille winger Timothy Weah

Juventus have reached a full agreement with Lille for the transfer of Timothy Weah (via transfer expert Fabrizio Romano).

With personal terms agreed a few days ago, the Bianconeri have now finalised a €12 million transfer fee.

The United States winger will sign a five-year deal, and the medicals are scheduled for Thursday.

Weah will be Juve’s first signing of the summer, who are aiming to put last season’s seventh-place finish in Serie A firmly behind them.

The Son of former footballer George Weah, Timothy progressed through the youth ranks at Paris Saint-Germain before spending a short loan stint at Celtic.

Lille signed Weah in 2019, and he has since gone on to make more than 100 appearances for the club.

Naturally a winger, Weah was deployed as a wing-back and full-back last season by Lille manager Paulo Fonseca.

The 23-year-old has made 28 appearances for the US. He was part of their squad at the 2022 World Cup and their CONCACAF Nations League’s winning team earlier this month.

Juventus recently made Arkadiusz Milik’s loan deal permanent and have successfully negotiated the contract extension of Adrien Rabiot.

However, several key players have been linked with an exit, including Federico Chiesa, Dusan Vlahovic, Fabio Miretti and Gleison Bremer.

Weston McKennie, who has returned to Juve after an unsuccessful loan spell at Leeds United, is wanted by Serie A rivals AS Roma.
