Real Madrid star Luka Modric has signed a one-year contract extension with the club until 2024.

The 37-year-old rejected a mega offer to join the Saudi Pro League to remain with the La Liga giants.

Modric joins midfield partner Toni Kroos in signing a new deal at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The veterans have plenty of knowledge and experience to pass on to the next generation.

The Croatian joined Los Blancos in 2012 from Tottenham Hotspur and has since established himself as one of the best midfielders in history.

The Spanish press labelled him a flop after his debut campaign, but he has since silenced the doubters in emphatic fashion.

Modric has made 488 appearances for Madrid, collecting 23 trophies including five Champions League titles.

He has also won five Club World Cups, four European Super Cups, three La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey, and four Spanish Super Cups.

He will hope to continue to give his best for Madrid after 11 years.

Despite showing signs of slowing down, he is still a world-class player ready to deliver excellent performances.
