Arsenal set to bid £90m for West Ham star Declan Rice

Arsenal are reportedly poised to make a £90 million bid to sign West Ham United star Declan Rice.

The Gunners saw their opening £80m offer for the England international rejected.

But they are set to return with another offer as Rice is their top target in this transfer window, according to Sky Sports.

However, the Hammers want around £120m to let Rice leave the London Stadium this summer. They would also accept £100m plus a player.

Arsenal spent a club record £72m fee to sign Nicolas Pepe from Lille in 2019.

They are ready to smash that record to land Rice, who is widely regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe.

He came through the youth academy at West Ham and has been their most consistent performer in recent years.

The midfielder has made 245 appearances in all competitions, bagging 15 goals.

Arsenal are set to lose Granit Xhaka who is reportedly close to joining Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

They cannot find a better replacement than Rice who has proved himself in the Premier League.

The Gunners face competition for Rice as Manchester City and Manchester United are also keen.
