Arsenal make improved £60m offer for Chelsea forward Kai Havertz

Arsenal have reportedly launched an improved £60 million bid for Chelsea forward Kai Havertz.

The Daily Mail claim the Gunners are ready to pay £55m plus £5m in bonuses to secure his services.

They saw their opening £50m bid rejected last week but have continued to negotiate with the Blues.

The German international has also sparked interest from Bayern Munich, but Arsenal are leading the race.

Personal terms are not an issue for them, with the 24-year-old keen to move to the Emirates Stadium.

He will be offered a long-term contract worth a minimum £210,000 per week.

The forward, whose contract at Stamford Bridge expires in 2025, is valued between £70-75m by Chelsea.

The Gunners are not far from meeting their valuation and a deal could be completed soon.

Chelsea spent £72m to sign Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020.

But he has failed to make a huge impact, scoring only 32 goals in 139 senior appearances.

He started 30 Premier League matches last season but made only eight goal contributions.

However, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will believe he can unlock Havertz’s undoubted potential.
