Chelsea in talks with gambling company over shirt sponsorship after crypto deal falls through

Chelsea are in discussions with gambling company to become their new front-of-shirt sponsor, as revealed by Sport Business.

The Blues are also closing in on a one-year partnership with the casino company after their deal with a crypto firm fell through.

Co-owner Todd Boehly has been actively working on finding a new sponsorship, with the deal with current sponsors Three expiring next year.

Three have been main shirt sponsors for the Blues since 2020, with the London giants pocketing around £120 million per season as part of the deal.

However, the relationship deteriorated after the telecommunication company suspended their partnership temporarily last year.

This decision was made in the wake of the United Kingdom government’s sanctions on Chelsea because of then-owner Roman Abramovich’s involvement in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

German financial company Allianz were tipped to become the main kit sponsor, but have added Chelsea to their current Premier League partnerships alongside Everton.

The move comes just months after Premier League clubs agreed to remove gambling sponsors on the front of their shirts, which will come into force in 2026.

Chelsea finished 12th in the Premier League last term, meaning they will not play in European competitions next season.

New manager Mauricio Pochettino will be tasked with steadying the ship and bringing back the glory days at Stamford Bridge.
