Inter Milan reach agreement in principle for Davide Frattesi

Inter Milan have found a breakthrough in their pursuit of Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi after striking an agreement in principle over his transfer.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Inter have been given the green light for Frattesi’s transfer putting them ahead of Juventus and AS Roma in the race to sign him.

However, the report adds that the Champions League runners-up need player exits from their side to sanction a move for the Italian midfielder.

Inter have proposed a player plus cash deal, with Samuele Mulattieri – currently on loan at Frosinone – being offered to Neroverdi.

Frattesi is regarded as one of the best young midfielders in Serie A, and his impressive development has also seen him linked with Premier League giants Manchester United.

The 23-year-old has been trying to force out a move from his current employers for a top club in Europe for some time now.

AS Roma had appeared to be his next destination last summer before the capital giants were put off by the price tag.

Frattesi recently stated he would prefer moving to another Serie A club as his next step.

Nerazzurri manager Simone Inzaghi has identified Frattesi as a top signing who can be integral to his plans.

Another handpicked option for Inzaghi is his former protégé and Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Serbian midfielder has also been tipped for a move to an elite club after years of continued brilliance with Lazio.

However, with his contract expiring in 12 months and no new deal agreed, he could finally be on the move this summer.

Juve are also in the mix, but Inter are reportedly in constant contact with his representative, while Milinkovic-Savic is open to reuniting with Inzaghi.
