Napoli target three managers including Christophe Galtier

Napoli have narrowed down the list of managerial candidates to three names, including ex-Paris Saint-Germain boss Christophe Galtier, according to Sky Sport Italia.

The Partenopei are on the lookout for a new head coach after Scudetto-winning manager Luciano Spalletti quit to take some time off from management.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is also considering Salernitana head coach Paulo Sousa and ex-Lyon boss Rudi Garcia.

There have also been rumours linking Luis Enrique with a move to Diego Maradona Stadium, but the Spaniard is out of contention.

Galtier was recently relieved of his duties by PSG after just one season.

He led Les Parisiens to the Ligue 1 title, but their success was overshadowed by failure in the Champions League and the racism allegations against him.

Sousa has worked wonders with Salernitana in a short period.

Since his appointment in April 2023, the Portuguese suffered only three defeats in 19 games, helping Salernitana retain their place in Serie A.

However, Napoli may have to pay a considerable compensation fee to release him from Salernitana.

Garcia has been out of management since leaving Al-Nassr earlier this year.

The 59-year-old had two separate stints with Lyon and was also in charge of Lille when they won Ligue 1 in 2010/11.

The Partenopei ended their 33-year title drought by clinching the Scudetto last season, and it remains to be seen whether they can defend it under a new manager.
