Chelsea in the lead for Vlahovic, offer being studied

Chelsea are leading the race to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Blues need a centre-forward and have the Serbian attacker on their radar.

Chelsea need a top-class centre-forward, with Romelu Lukaku set to leave the club permanently or on loan.

They have used Kai Havertz as their striker, but he could be on the move with Real Madrid circling.

The Bianconeri want around €80 million for Vlahovic – around the same sum they paid to Fiorentina to secure his services.

Vlahovic has disappointed in Turin since making the move in January 2022.

The 23-year-old has bagged 23 goals and six assists in 63 appearances for the Old Lady. He scored only 14 in 42 appearances this season.

Juventus are open to moving him off their books. They did not secure Champions League qualification due to the ten-point deduction they suffered.

The Serie A giants will need to make some adjustments over the summer. They have already allowed Angel Di Maria to leave on a free transfer and more cost-cutting moves will follow.

They will need to raise funds through sales, and Vlahovic is their most valuable asset right now.

Chelsea are trying to offer Juventus players to smooth the deal including Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Trevoh Chalobah.

Loftus-Cheek was close to joining AC Milan, but changes in the boardroom have halted the deal.

Juventus know all about Chalobah from their encounter with Chelsea last term when he scored against them.

They might consider the players as they need reinforcements ahead of next season.
