PSG set to sign Lee Kang-in to replace Lionel Messi

Paris Saint-Germain are on the cusp of securing a deal for RCD Mallorca attacking midfielder Lee Kang-in, according to Foot Mercato. 

Mallorca and PSG are in advanced negotiations for the former Valencia youngster.

Kang-in joined Mallorca on a free transfer in 2021 and had an impressive first season in La Liga.

He featured in 39 matches this term, bagging six goals and seven assists.

The 22-year-old’s outstanding performances have garnered interest from top European clubs.

Atletico Madrid showed interest, but PSG are leading the race for his signature.

PSG tabled a €15 million offer to Mallorca for the young South Korean international – €3m more than Atletico.

Negotiations are still underway, but an agreement seems imminent.

Kang-in has reportedly already reached a personal agreement with the Ligue 1 champions.

His potential acquisition would help fill the void left by the recent departure of Lionel Messi. The Argentine left PSG to join Inter Miami on a free transfer. 

There are also rumours surrounding Neymar’s possible exit from Parc des Princes.

If they finalise the deal, Kang-in’s arrival in Paris will inject fresh energy and creativity into PSG’s midfield and on the flanks.

Les Parisiens are set for a rebuild this summer with Messi leaving. Kylian Mbappe could also be on his way out of the club.

Sporting director Luis Campos is trying to build a young and competitive squad for the next manager. He is not targeting big names.

They sacked Christophe Galtier and are in advanced discussions to hire Julian Nagelsmann. The German will have the task of leading this PSG side into a new era.

Romano has also disclosed that PSG will sign Cher Ndour from Benfica as a free agent this summer. They beat an English club in the race to sign the youngster.

The deal has Campos written over it because he loves to poach talents from Portugal, especially Benfica’s academy.
