Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr are hoping to recruit Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri this summer, according to Calciomercato.
As is now customary with the Saudi-based clubs, Al-Nassr have reportedly tabled a mouth-watering contract offer to the former AC Milan manager as they push to lure him to the Middle East.
Allegri currently earns around €7 million in base salary fee plus €2m in bonuses – if reports are to be believed, the contract proposal from Al-Nassr is worth around four times his current wage package.
Negotiations have intensified between both parties recently, and Allegri is expected to meet representatives of the Saudi club in the next few days to hold further talks.
The deal could see the six-time Serie A champion reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr after working with the Portuguese legend at the Allianz Stadium.
Ronaldo is understood to be pushing for Al-Nassr to sign Allegri with the club on the market for a new manager after parting ways with Rudi Garcia in early April.
Al-Nassr are pushing to sign Allegri, having earmarked him as a priority target, but the 55-year-old is not the only manager on the Saudi club’s extensive shortlist.
After sacking Garcia, Al-Nassr appointed Croatian tactician Dinko Jelicic as interim manager, and there was an upturn in performances, with the 49-year-old winning four of his eight games in charge.
However, they are keen to snap up one of Europe’s elite head coaches ahead of the new campaign and have been linked with a move for AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho.
Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr were pipped to the Saudi Pro League title by Al-Ittihad, who have reinforced their squad with the mega-money signing of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
The Frenchman signed a two-year deal with the club worth a staggering €200m per season – the same as former Los Blancos teammate Ronaldo earns at Al-Nassr.
