PSG pushing to sign Marcus Thuram on a free transfer

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly making significant efforts to sign Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram.

According to L’Equipe, the French club has engaged in positive talks with the 25-year-old. The attacker will become a free agent when his contract with Die Fohlen expires this month.

Thuram, the eldest son of legendary defender Lilian Thuram, is eager to move to the Parc des Princes.

PSG star Kylian Mbappe already has chemistry with the Gladbach man from their time with the France national team.

Thuram assisted Mbappe’s inspired volleyed goal against Argentina in the World Cup final. The PSG star is attempting to persuade his compatriot to join the club.

PSG’s sporting director, Luis Campos, views Thuram as the target man the team currently lacks.

Thuram has confided in his inner circle about PSG being a favourable option for his career.

The talented forward wants to secure a place in the France squad for the 2024 European Championship in Germany.

Playing for a high-profile Champions League team such as PSG would significantly enhance his chances of achieving this goal.

PSG have been proactive in the transfer market this summer, with several notable signings already in the pipeline.

The Ligue 1 champions have secured a deal for Sporting CP midfielder Manuel Ugarte in a €60 million agreement.

They beat Chelsea to the signature of the Uruguayan enforcer. He will add some steel to PSG’s fragile midfield.

Real Madrid player Marco Asensio will also join PSG as a free agent, while Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar is heading to Paris on a free transfer.

PSG are still trying to sign Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez, and a move for Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva is also on the cards.
