Tottenham Hotspur are strongly considering appointing Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou, reports the Independent.
Spurs appeared to be closing in on Feyenoord’s Arne Slot.
However, the 44-year-old has revealed he is staying with the Dutch top-flight champions, and Tottenham are looking elsewhere.
Postecoglou has been continually linked with Spurs since Antonio Conte left the club.
He has impressed since becoming the Hoops boss in 2021.
Postecoglou signed a 12-month rolling contract and became the first Australian to manage a major club in Europe.
While Celtic missed out on the Scottish Premiership crown in his first season, they have since won back-to-back league titles and Scottish League Cups.
The Hoops are also in the final of the Scottish Cup, and Postecoglou will be keen to win it for the first time.
Spurs are without any silverware since 2008 and need a manager capable of winning trophies.
The 57-year-old won four trophies with South Melbourne, three with Brisbane Roar, one with Yokohama F Marinos and eight across his spells with Australia under-17, under-20 and senior national teams.
Postecoglou has played attacking and eye-catching football since becoming a manager.
Celtic have been entertaining and mind-blowing under him, and Tottenham need such a tactician.
They need results and good football, and Postecoglou can bring both to the table.
However, whether he is keen on joining them remains to be seen, given the underlying issues at the club.
Spurs are without a director of football and do not have an identity and style of play.
Top managers have struggled to get the best out of the club, and Postecoglou could have doubts about joining them.
