Man Utd forward Marcus Rashford returns to training ahead of Chelsea clash

Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford has returned to training after missing their last two Premier League games and could be in the squad to face Chelsea on Thursday.

The 25-year-old missed the win over Wolverhampton Wanderers with a leg injury. He returned to training but was absent for the victory over Bournemouth due to illness.

Rashford is now back in training and will hope to be in the squad to face Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Following Newcastle United’s draw with Leicester City that guaranteed them Champions League football next year, Man United can book their place in the tournament with one point from their last two games.

After the Chelsea game, they take on Fulham in their final league outing. They will then play the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

Rashford is on 29 goals and nine assists this season. The England international will want to add to that tally in the coming weeks to round off a super season.

United manager Erik ten Hag could be spoilt for choice on the left flank, with Alejandro Garnacho pushing for his first start since returning from injury.

The 18-year-old scored against Wolves, but TenHag said he still has to improve some aspects of his game to break into the starting XI.

Goalkeeper Tom Heaton is back with the group, but Jack Butland retained his place on the bench at the Vitality Stadium.

Lisandro Martinez and Marcel Sabitzer are out for the rest of the season. Donny van de Beek has returned to training after a lengthy absence but will not play again this term.
