Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba this summer, reports Mundo Deportivo.
They want a new player in the position, with Reinildo Mandava unavailable due to a long-term injury.
Atletico have had Alba on their radar for a while and will look to tempt him with promises of regular playing time.
The 34-year-old has lost his starting berth to 19-year-old Alejandro Balde.
Alba has started just 12 La Liga games this term, while the teenage sensation has been named in the starting XI 27 times.
Barca reckon a summer exit is best for the veteran as he will not get to play more games next term.
He has a year left on his deal, and the cash-strapped club could do with his hefty wages off their bill.
However, manager Xavi believes Alba is still capable of making key contributions as he has done in a few games.
The Spaniard is also set to become a father again and will prefer to remain in the city for family reasons.
Alba is keen to remain at the Camp Nou club despite falling out of favour.
However, both parties may decide an exit is best if it will benefit them.
Al-Hilal are also interested in signing the Barca star.
The Saudi Pro League club have made him an offer in a bid to convince Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi to join them.
The Argentine is good friends with Alba and was reportedly eyeing a reunion at the Parc des Princes club in January.
A juicy offer from the Saudi Arabia club could tempt both Barcelona and Alba into accepting a deal.
Atletico will also continue to monitor the situation and could do with such a quality and experienced player.
