Injury blow for Arsenal as Gabriel Martinelli limps off against Brighton

Gabriel Martinelli hobbled off early in Sunday’s home clash against Brighton & Hove Albion in a big injury blow for Arsenal

Moises Caicedo’s horror tackle took the 21-year-old out after just 12 minutes into the game. He tried to play through the pain but was eventually replaced by Leandro Trossard.

The Gunners fans were furious as Caicedo escaped punishment for his brutal challenge.

The left-winger has been a key player for Arsenal his season, bagging fifteen goals and five assists in 33 league matches.

The Gunners are already dealing with injuries to William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko, who have been ruled out for the rest of the campaign.

Mohamed Elneny and Takehiro Tomiyasu will also not play again this term.

Manchester City’s 3-0 victory over Everton earlier today moved them four points clear at the top of the table.

Arsenal buckled under the pressure, slipping to a dismal 3-0 defeat against the Seagulls.

Missing out on the title will be disappointing for Arsenal, but they can be proud of the way they have challenged Man City this term.

They have secured Champions League football for next term, which was their primary aim at the start of the season.
