AC Milan close in on Daichi Kamada after he turned down Borussia Dortmund

AC Milan are reportedly close to signing Eintracht Frankfurt star Daichi Kamada.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Serie A outfit have reached an agreement in principle with the 26-year-old.

He will sign a contract that will see him earn around €3 million per season at the San Siro.

Kamada has been a key member of the German side in recent years, helping them win the Europa League last season.

He has made over 170 senior appearances since joining the club in 2017.

The Japan international has also been an important figure for Oliver Glasner’s side this term, scoring eight goals in 30 Bundesliga appearances.

However, the Eagles have confirmed he will leave the club this summer when his contract expires.

Kamada was heavily linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund, but he rejected the opportunity to join them

The 26-year-old has also been linked with moves to Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, but it now appears he will be heading to Italy

Milan are currently going through a difficult period after failing to defend the Serie A title.

They are in serious danger of missing out on a top-four finish, while their hopes of progressing to the Champions League final look slim after the 2-0 loss to Inter Milan in the first leg of the semi-final.
