Chelsea youngster Hall to play against Nottingham Forest – Cucurella and Chilwell injured

Chelsea youngster Lewis Hall has a chance of starting their Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest tomorrow.

First-choice left-backs Marc Cucurella and Ben Chilwell are out for the game.

Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard has been watching Hall train with the first team and is willing to play him.

The 18-year-old is a midfielder played as a left-back when Chilwell was out.

Cucurella was dealing with personal issues and playing poorly.

However, Hall slipped down the pecking order and has been out of the first team picture. But he will likely return to the starting tomorrow.

At his press conference today ahead of the Forest game, Lampard said (via Chelsea’s official website): Lewis has s a chance [to start].

“I was tempted to put him on last week, but with the nature of the game and how it was set, I just felt that the experience of Azpi (Cesar Azpilicueta) was more suitable at that point.

“I will view this game on its merits, but I have been really impressed with Lewis and the way he has trained.

“He is a really good player, a very talented player. He perhaps needs to come out of himself a little bit more and trust how good he is.

“I have been really impressed, and he is definitely in the running for the last four games to be involved.”

Hall was in the England under-20 squad for the upcoming World Cup in Argentina.

He would have joined four of his Chelsea teammates at the tournament.

However, Lampard decided to keep him around for the final four games of the campaign.

It is an opportunity for the youngster to make his mark in the left-back position and give Chelsea a headache ahead of next season.
