Joao Felix wants Premier League stay but with Champions League club

On-loan Chelsea forward Joao Felix is keen on staying in the Premier League but is looking for a club that can offer Champions League football, according to COPE.

The 23-year-old joined the Blues in the January transfer window from Atletico Madrid. He has been one of the bright spots in a dismal season.

Chelsea will likely finish below the European places, but Felix wants to play in UEFA’s top club competition.

Felix knows it will be a complicated process and is ready to start pre-season with Atletico Madrid.

He has not exactly lit up the Premier League, netting just three goals, but the Blues want to keep him.

They were considering another loan or a permanent move involving player exchange with Atletico.

However, Felix has his sights elsewhere. He will not be an Atletico player next season as his relationship with manager Diego Simeone is fractured.

Atletico Madrid’s CEO pushed for the signing of Felix from Benfica for €127 million, but the move has not worked out.

Manchester City, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Manchester United currently occupy the Premier League’s Champions League positions. Liverpool are also in the race.

Felix hopes that one of them will make a move for him. Arsenal showed interest before Chelsea blew them out with an £11 million offer for a six-month loan.

The Gunners could return for him as they prepare to play in the Champions League for the first time in six years.

Atletico want £88m (€100m) for Felix, but they may accept another season-long loan.
