Chelsea will demand €4-€5 million to sanction the sale of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer, according to SPORT.
After spending over £600 million over the past two transfer windows, they are in danger of running into Financial Fair Play (FFP) trouble.
The Blues paid £12 million to Barcelona to sign the 33-year-old last summer, but he has not delivered.
They are willing to allow him to leave Stamford Bridge but understandably want to recoup some of their outlay.
Barcelona are interested in re-signing the Gabonese striker on a free transfer. They tried to take him in January, but Chelsea blocked them.
It is unclear whether Barca can pay a fee as they are cash-strapped. They need to juggle their finances to be able to sign and register players.
However, they are not the only club interested in Aubameyang, with Atletico Madrid and AC Milan also linked with the former Arsenal star.
Milan may consider a move for Aubameyang with Olivier Giroud advancing in age and Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to leave the club.
The veteran striker’s contract expires this summer and Milan will not offer a new deal due to his ongoing battles with injuries. He could sign for AC Monza on a free transfer.
Another option for Aubameyang could be to head to Madrid to join Atletico.
Los Colchoneros are looking for affordable options to bolster their squad ahead of next season.
Aubameyang reportedly wants to sign for Barca. He will wait until the summer transfer window to see if they can afford Chelsea’s demands.
