Chelsea freeze general admission season ticket prices for 2023/24

It’s been a season Chelsea would want to forget in a hurry as they brace themselves for a first bottom-half Premier League finish since 1995/96.

Despite beating Bournemouth 3-1 last time out to end a seven-match winless league run, Frank Lampard’s side cannot do anything to make their fans reconcile with a poor campaign.

With the new club owners working around the clock to get the Blues back to the Premier League elite, Chelsea launched season ticket sales and renewals for the 2023/24 season.

Since the 2011/12 campaign, adult general admission season tickets have remained unchanged, resulting in a real-term decrease of 32% in prices since 2005.

In line with numerous other industries, football has experienced significant cost increases, with Chelsea failing to stay immune to a global recession.

Managing Stamford Bridge and organising matchdays have been particularly affected by inflationary pressures, with expenses rising by 31% since 2018.

However, the rise in the cost of living has affected football supporters in Europe and England, forcing the Blues hierarchy to freeze Chelsea season ticket prices for next season.

To maintain a sustainable operation, the club must expand all revenue streams, including matchday income.

Chelsea will allocate time to evaluate their overall ticketing strategy and approach next season.

This assessment should include consultations with Fan Advisory Board and other important stakeholders to ensure that supporters’ opinions are taken into account.

As part of this process, they promise to examine the variety of price points available throughout the stadium to ensure that each seat corresponds to its value and demand.

Chelsea are committed to providing payment plans allowing season ticket holders to distribute the cost of their tickets over the course of the season.

Season ticket holders will have access to the ticket exchange platform, enabling them to offer their unused seats to fellow season ticket holders and members.

Existing season ticket holders have until June 2 to renew their tickets. For those using payment plan finance, the deadline is set for May 25.
