Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s agent hits out at exit rumours

Lazio line up replacement for Arsenal target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

With the summer transfer window fast approaching, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s future at Lazio is once again up in the air.

The midfielder’s current contract expires in 2024, but he could be on the move this summer amid links to Juventus and Arsenal.

However, Milinkovic-Savic’s agent Mateja Kezman has now reaffirmed his client’s desire to remain at Stadio Olimpico.

“We’ve spoken many times with the president, deciding that we’ll discuss everything at the end of the season,” Kezman told Corriere dello Sport (h/t Tutto Juve).

“It is unpleasant to hear stories from people I mentioned earlier about his contract and future daily. Somebody is using harsh words to discuss Milinkovic and his form – they are enemies of Lazio.

“He wants to help the club reach a fantastic target like the Champions League. Nobody can question his commitment, his loyalty and his love for Lazio.

“That’s why everyone at Lazio must remain united. Four games remain, and I am sure they will play in the Champions League next season.”

Off the back of a rough patch in recent weeks, Milinkovic-Savic has come under heavy criticism of late but his agent was quick to defend his dip in form.

“It’s true that Sergej is not at his best moment, but over the last eight years, he has never been below his level,” Kezman added.

“He may have had some bad weeks, but at the end of the day, he’s just a man who can have highs and lows also in his private life.”

Having racked up six goals and eight assists in 32 league matches, Milinkovic-Savic leads all Serie A midfielders in direct goal contributions.

Whether the Serbian will continue his spell at Lazio remains to be seen, but there is no denying the level of ability he possesses.
