Man Utd interested in signing Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana

Manchester United are interested in signing Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana this summer, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Onana has kept eight clean sheets in 22 Serie A appearances this term and has ousted Samir Handanovic from the team.

He has also kept six clean sheets in ten Champions League appearances for the Nerazzurri, helping them reach the semi-finals.

The former Cameroon international had already shown his Champions League pedigree with Ajax. He helped them reach the last four in 2018/19.

His performances have attracted interest from United, who are looking for a new keeper to provide competition for David De Gea.

The Spaniard has made four errors leading to goals this season. His sweeping and ball-playing abilities are questionable and the club have doubts about him.

De Gea will likely renew his deal which expires this summer, but United want to bring in capable hands.

Dean Henderson is out of action till August with a thigh injury, and he may not want to play for the club again. Tom Heaton’s contract expires this summer.

Inter will demand €50 million for Onana after signing him for free only a year ago.

Chelsea have shown interest in Onana as they strive to upgrade their current goalkeeping options.

However, incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino reportedly has other goalkeeping targets, clearing the way for United to sign Onana.
