Granit Xhaka could leave Arsenal to join Bayer Leverkusen this summer

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has been offered the chance to join Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen this summer, according to the Sun.

The 30-year-old has been with the Gunners since 2016, making over 290 senior appearances for the club.

He has started 33 matches in the Premier League this term, bagging five goals and seven assists.

However, Mikel Arteta wants to sign West Ham United star Declan Rice and another central midfielder in the summer transfer window.

Xhaka, who will be out of contract in June 2024, would likely struggle for game time if Arsenal strengthen their squad.

The former Borussia Monchengladbach star could be tempted to return to Germany with Leverkusen keen to hire his services.

The Black and Reds are ready to offer him a long-term contract. And if he moves to the Bay Arena, Arsenal could look to sign Moussa Diaby as part of the deal.

The Gunners have been highly impressed with Diaby who has been earning rave reviews with his performances this season.

The Frenchman has made 30 Bundesliga appearances this term, contributing nine goals and nine assists.

His performances have even caught the attention of La Liga giants Real Madrid who are reportedly keeping a close eye on him ahead of the summer window

Newcastle United have also been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old winger.
