Bayern Munich cool interest in Napoli striker Victor Osimhen

Bayern Munich are no longer interested in Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and have pulled out of the transfer race, according to Sky Sport Germany.

The Nigerian striker was believed to be Bayern’s priority target for the summer following a stellar season in Serie A, driving the Partenopei to the Scudetto for the first time after 33 years.

Reports also stated that Bayern had initiated talks with Osimhen’s entourage, and the player was also open to moving to Allianz Arena.

However, talks have now hit a standstill, with Bavarians considering his €150 million price tag too steep.

Paris Saint-Germain are also hot on Osimhen’s trail, who leads the Serie A scoring charts with 23 goals.

However, a move to the Premier League is more likely, with Chelsea and Manchester United among the interested parties.

Bayern have turned their attention towards Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani as their primary target to bolster the attack.

Kolo Muani has shot to prominence following a prolific Bundesliga season and a productive stint with the France national team at the 2022 World Cup.

The Bavarians have also reportedly been in contact with the 24-year-old, but Frankfurt are unwilling to sell and have set a price tag of more than €100m.

However, Bayern face competition from Manchester United, who are also pushing to sign the Frenchman.

Bayern have prioritised signing a top-class striker in the summer transfer window, having suffered from a lack of depth in that position.

The Bavarians have put Sadio Mane up for sale, with Chelsea registering an interest in bringing him back to the Premier League.

Bayern top the Bundesliga table with 65 points, just one point ahead of Borussia Dortmund.
