Bayern Munich preparing £100m move for Randal Kolo Muani

Bayern Munich are eyeing up a nine-figure deal for Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani, reports The Independent.

Kolo Muani arrived at Frankfurt just last summer, signing a five-year contract upon the expiry of his deal with Nantes. Since then, he has become one of the hottest properties in the Bundesliga.

The Frenchman has struck 13 league goals this term, putting him second in the race for the Golden Boot.

Having also registered ten assists, he is one of only six players in Europe’s top five leagues to hit double figures in both categories, alongside Lionel Messi, Neymar, Antoine Griezmann, Bukayo Saka and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Furthermore, his form has earned him seven caps on the international stage. He was part of Didier Deschamps’ side that reached the final of the World Cup last year, scoring in the semi-final against Morocco.

The 24-year-old has attracted attention from some of the world’s biggest clubs including Bayern, who are preparing a £100 million bid for the forward.

The Bavarians are one of several top clubs expected to sign a striker this summer. Last year, they allowed seven-time Bundesliga Golden Boot winner Robert Lewandowski to join Barcelona without signing a natural replacement.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has hit an admirable 17 goals in all competitions, but this is far off the standard required at the Allianz Arena.

Kolo Muani is one of three strikers closely linked with a switch to the German giants. Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is believed to be at the top of their wish list, while Tottenham Hotspur’s all-time top goalscorer Harry Kane has also been mentioned.

However, they will face heavy competition for Osmimhen, while Kane is unlikely to leave the Premier League.

If Bayern Munich complete a move for the Frankfurt man, it could have an impact on the transfer window around Europe.

Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain are among the other top clubs likely to make a move for a striker this summer.

All three clubs have also been linked with moves for Osimhen and Kane and would welcome the prospect of Bayern dropping out of the race.

Man United are eager to spend big on a striker, with Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst misfiring.

However, the uncertainty over their ownership has cast doubt over their summer dealings, as it is unclear what sort of budget manager Erik ten Hag will be working with.

PSG also have a lot of uncertainty surrounding them at the moment. Lionel Messi is expected to leave, while the futures of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and manager Christophe Galtier remain undecided.

As for Chelsea, they desperately need to trim their squad down before adding new players into the mix.

A move for loanee Joao Felix has been rumoured, while a return for Romelu Lukaku hasn’t been ruled out.
