AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has verbally agreed to join AC Monza in the summer, reports Fussball Transfers.
The San Siro club have decided not to extend the Sweden international’s deal when it expires at the end of the season.
Ibrahimovic has missed a large chunk of the campaign, and Milan are ready to move on.
However, the 41-year-old still wants to continue playing football at the top level, and Monza are offering him a chance.
Moving to the club will allow the Swede to remain in the city of Milan as opposed to relocating.
Monza are tenth in Serie A with five games left and are planning to impress again next season.
If he manages to stay fit, Ibrahimovic can help them push for a top-seven finish in their second season back in the top flight.
He is friends with Monza owner and former Milan president Silvio Berlusconi.
The relationship could boost talks between both parties, and the veteran hitman will be keen to prove he is not done yet.
While injuries have limited him to just four appearances this term, Ibrahimovic has played 78 times since returning to Milan in December 2019.
He has bagged 37 goals since then and could be a huge addition to the Monza attack.
Signing him will also help boost the finances of the White and Reds.
Fans will be keen to watch him in action, and while he is unlikely to attract a full stadium, an increase in their attendances should be expected.
The Serie A legend wants to add to his 156 goals in the Italian top flight, and Monza are ready to give him a chance.
