Fulham manager Marco Silva has emerged as the leading candidate to become the next manager of Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Sun.
With Antonio Conte set to leave Tottenham when his contract expires next summer, the north Londoners have kicked off their search for a new head coach.
Roberto De Zerbi, Luis Enrique, Thomas Frank and Thomas Tuchel have all been linked with the Spurs job, while a return for Mauricio Pochettino has also been mooted.
However, Silva is now the frontrunner to take the reins at Tottenham ahead of the start of next season.
The 45-year-old has overseen a remarkable campaign with Fulham, who sit eighth in the Premier League table with 39 points from 27 games.
As he approaches the final 15 months of his contract at Craven Cottage, Silva recently claimed he is happy with his current employers and refused to comment on rumours linking him with a move away.
“I have this season and another year on my contract at this club,” Silva told The Athletic.
“I am really happy here and won’t make any comments on that.
“It is the same with players and managers – it is impossible to control what people write.
“Whether it is managers or players are linked with clubs, or if there is interest.
“To be honest, it is something that we don’t lose time thinking about these situations.”
After a 3-0 thrashing against Arsenal last time out, Silva and Fulham now prepare to lock horns with Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday.
Boosted by the availability of midfield lynchpin Joao Palhinha, Fulham will fancy their chances of causing an upset at Old Trafford and reaching their first semi-final of a domestic cup competition in 21 years.
