Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag believes his players must be focused and motivated when they face Brighton & Hove Albion tomorrow.
There are six games between now and the end of the league season and Ten Hag wants his team to collect maximum points.
Brighton will come into the encounter looking for revenge after they lost to Man United in the FA Cup semi-final.
They will not lack any confidence as they have beaten United this season in the reverse fixture.
At his press conference ahead of the game, Ten Hag was asked whether he was happy with his side’s progress since that defeat.
He said (via Man United’s official website): “I never want to talk during the season about proud or satisfaction.
No, because you know my statement: satisfaction leads to laziness and we are in the season. We have six games to go and every game we want to win.
“Therefore, you need full focus. You need full energy and you need full preparation and tomorrow definitely it’s going to be a fight. We have to get ready for that fight to get the points.
“I want to win every game. We want to win every competition and so I can’t choose but it’s clear we want to be in the Champions League.
“That is the competition we are now fighting for and I think that is in this moment the only thing we have to focus on because the FA Cup final is after the season.
“So the only thing we have to do now is get this done. But you have to go from game to game.”
United currently sit in fourth place in the Premier League with 63 points. Newcastle United are two points ahead in third place, but they have played one more game.
The Red Devils have the chance to climb above Newcastle, but it won’t be easy against a Brighton side that ran through Wolverhampton Wanderers in their last match.
They smashed Wolves 6-0 without four starters, and they will want revenge after the FA Cup loss.
