Chelsea eyeing summer swoop for Crystal Palace ace Wilfried Zaha

Chelsea are emerging as serious contenders for the services of Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha, reports the Daily Mail.

The 30-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is attracting interest at home and abroad.

The Blues were keen on Zaha last summer but a deal did not materialise.

Palace are hoping to keep the Ivory Coast international and have offered him a £200,000-a-week deal.

The former Manchester United attacker will become the club’s highest-paid player ever if he accepts the contract.

However, Zaha is taking his time and weighing up all his options before deciding.

AC Milan, Inter Milan, Napoli and Marseille are also keeping tabs on his situation.

Zaha is also attracting interest from Saudi Arabia, but he prefers to remain in Europe.

Mauricio Pochettino, who is expected to take charge of Chelsea, was keen on him while at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Argentine will look to sign him at Stamford Bridge after missing out on him years ago.

However, Chelsea must sell players this summer to avoid breaking Financial Fair Play rules.

Raheem Sterling, Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix, Mason Mount, Noni Madueke, Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and Conor Gallagher are all attacking options on the wings.

Some may need to be sold to make room for soon-to-be free agent Zaha.

The Englishman has made a name for himself at Palace, becoming their highest goalscorer in the Premier League.

He will be keen to play European football but will need to wait until at least 2024 to have a chance of doing so if he joins Chelsea.
