Inter Milan consider Andre Onana sale amid Chelsea interest

Inter Milan are considering whether to sell goalkeeper Andre Onana after only one season at the club, according to Calciomercato.

The 27-year-old has impressed in his debut campaign in Italy, but he could be on the move again following his free transfer from Ajax.

His agent recently flew to Italy and watched Inter vs Juventus in the Italian Cup at the San Siro. He met with Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio, and they discussed the possibility of a transfer.

The Cameroon international is happy at Inter Milan and grateful they took a chance on him after his nine-month doping ban.

However, Onana will consider a move away from the Nerazzurri this summer, especially if they don’t qualify for the Champions League.

At the moment, there is no decision to sell Onana, but things could change by June.

Chelsea are interested in his services as they search for a new number one. Manchester United are also looking for a goalkeeper and have him on their radar.

The Blues have Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga on their books, but one will likely leave this summer.

Mendy was incredible for the Blues in his first season and the early part of his second campaign. But he has been poor since returning from the African Cup of Nations in February 2022.

He made several high-profile errors leading former manager Graham Potter to drop him for Arrizbalaga.

Interim boss Frank Lampard has persisted with Arrizabalaga, but he is not a top-class goalie.

Even at his best, Arrizabalaga still allows in goals that he should be saving. Chelsea would rather sell him, but he is on big wages, and many clubs will not take him.

Mendy is a more saleable asset for the London club and could be on his way out this summer.

Chelsea will try to bring in a new keeper, and they have set their sights on Onana. Another option is Borussia Dortmund shot-stopper Gregor Kobel.
