Tottenham Hotspur have calmed their pursuit of Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi, according to the Daily Mail.
De Zerbi has done an incredible job at Brighton and has them sitting eighth in the Premier League. They also reached the FA Cup semi-finals.
It has been a promising debut season in the English top flight for the former Shakhtar Donetsk manager.
His side’s impressive showings led to interest from Inter Milan, but he said he would remain in England.
Tottenham also showed interest in De Zerbi, but they no longer see him as a top priority.
He remains on their list, but they will now focus on Julian Nagelsmann and Arne Slot.
Nagelsmann dropped out of the race to be Chelsea manager last week after growing concerns about the club.
The recently dismissed Bayern manager is now reportedly open to the Spurs job after initially showing no interest. The young German is Tottenham’s primary target.
Slot is doing a remarkable job with Feyenoord. He is steering them to a first Eredivisie title since 2017.
Feyenoord lead Ajax with eight points with four games left. They will face the Amsterdam giants in the Dutch Cup final next week.
However, Slot would have been disappointed to see his side crash out against AS Roma in the Europa League quarter-final.
Slot led them to the Europa Conference League final last year, but Roma beat them in the final.
Despite Slot and Nagelsmann featuring high on Levy’s list, interest remains in other managers such as Luis Enrique.
After appointing a new manager, Levy must secure a new sporting director for the club.
Fabio Paratici resigned from the job two days ago after he lost an appeal to overturn his 30-month worldwide football ban.
