Leroy Sane aimed a racial slur at Sadio Mane in their dressing room bust-up

Leroy Sane aimed a racial slur at Sadio Mane after Bayern Munich’s dismal Champions League defeat at Manchester City in midweek, according to Taggat.

Mane responded by punching Sane in the lip and has since been slapped with a one-game suspension and a fine by the German giants.

He will miss their next Bundesliga game against TSG Hoffenheim, but his future with the club is not in jeopardy.

There was a sequence late in the game where both players were not on the same wavelength, sparking a disagreement.

It continued into the dressing room and got more heated, resulting in Sane making racist remarks towards Sane.

Teammates had to pull both men apart after the incident. Mane reportedly apologised to the team today and trained as usual.

Sane has not received any punishment for his comments. He reportedly apologised immediately.

Mane must now fight his way back into Thomas Tuchel’s side. He has been disappointing this season and failed to repay Bayern’s £45 million investment.

However, the club’s decision to use him as a central striker has not helped his cause. Mane is far more effective on the left flank.

The lack of a striker was a massive part of their undoing against Man City. They lacked a central figure to finish off chances when they arrived in the final third.

This lack of a central presence allowed City to defend Bayern’s threat easily, while defensive mistakes proved extremely costly.

Bayern now have a mountain to climb in the second leg at the Allianz Arena next week.
