Barcelona offer Sergino Dest to Atletico Madrid in the deal for Yannick Carrasco

Barcelona are planning to include Sergio Dest as a makeweight in the deal to sign Atletico Madrid star Yannick Carrasco, reports Sport.

The Catalan giants want to add the Belgian winger to their ranks this summer, having secured the right to sign him for €15 million as part of Memphis Depay’s transfer to Atletico in January.

However, Barca are looking to negotiate the fee due to their financial situation by offering Dest to Los Rojiblancos.

The United States international looks poised to return to Camp Nou following his underwhelming loan spell with AC Milan this season.

Dest has failed to convince Stefano Pioli about a permanent move and Milan have no plans to buy him from the Catalan outfit.

The 22-year-old may be shipped out again by Barca as he is not in their plans. Manager Xavi wants to recruit a top-class right-back, with Juan Foyth, Arnau Martinez and Benjamin Pavard among the options.

Atletico could dip their toes in the transfer market for a right-back if Matt Doherty, who has been frustrated with the lack of minutes since his arrival in January, leaves this summer.

Even if Los Rojiblancos reject Dest, there is no shortage of suitors, with Sevilla and Union Berlin lining up to make a move for him.

Barca believe Carrasco will be a valuable addition, provided he is available for a cut-price fee.

The 29-year-old has also decided to move to Camp Nou, having failed with his attempt in January.

The Catalan giants are also working on the free transfers of Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, Chelsea’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi.

They have reportedly sealed the transfer of Athletic Bilbao defender Inigo Martinez.
