Chelsea consider return for Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti

Chelsea are considering Carlo Ancelotti for their vacant managerial position, according to ESPN.

The Blues recently sacked Graham Potter and have installed Frank Lampard as the interim manager until the end of the season.

Chelsea have reportedly spoken to Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique about replacing Potter.

They are the favourites for the job, but the London club are considering other options.

The Blues have been linked with Jose Mourinho, Mauricio Pochettino, Luciano Spalletti, Ruben Amorim, Antonio Gallardo, Antonio Conte and Abel Ferreira.

Chelsea have added Ancelotti to their exhaustive search for a new manager and are unlikely to receive much resistance from Real Madrid.

Los Blancos are reportedly unhappy at being 12 points behind rivals Barcelona in La Liga and were angry about the Super Cup loss to the Catalans.

Madrid bosses also questioned Ancelotti’s tactics in the first leg of their Copa del Rey clash with Barcelona.

They lost to an injury-plagued Barca but won the second leg 4-0. Despite the win, Ancelotti’s future is still unclear. He may walk away this summer.

The Brazilian football federation (CBF) wants Ancelotti to fill their vacant managerial position following Tite’s exit.

The former Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan boss said he was flattered by Brazili’s interest but has not decided whether to take the job.

Ancelotti won the domestic double with Chelsea in the 2009/10 campaign. He has the European pedigree that Chelsea wants in their new manager.

The Italian can manage massive egos and nurture youngsters while playing attractive football. He is a master with the press and can handle just about any condition while being a winner.

It is unclear if Ancelotti is interested in returning to England, but Chelsea is a tempting project.
