Bayern Munich monitoring highly-rated Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani

Bayern Munich could look to sign a striker this summer and have lined up Eintracht Frankfurt Randal Kolo Muani as one of their potential targets, according to SPORT 1.

The Bavarians are not expecting an active transfer window come the summer but are considering adding a new centre-forward to reduce Eric Choupo Moting’s workload.

New manager Thomas Tuchel has Sadio Mane and Serge Gnabry to try out in the No 9 role, but their lack of form remains an issue.

Kolo Muani progressed massively during an incredible campaign with Frankfurt this season.

The 24-year-old has bagged 11 goals and 12 assists in the Bundesliga, becoming the first player in the league to hit double figures in each category.

His outstanding club form led to a call-up for France’s World Cup squad, and he put himself in the spotlight by scoring a goal in the semi-finals and providing an assist to Kylian Mbappe in the final.

The former Nantes star was also on the starting eleven in the recent European Championship qualifying games against Netherlands and Ireland.

However, a summer move looks unlikely, as Frankfurt are steadfast in keeping him for one more season.

The Eagles value him around €120 million, which makes it a nearly impossible operation for the Bavarians, who have no plans to spend such an exorbitant fee.

Bayern also have Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen on their radar, but both players would cost much similar to Kolo Muani.

They are also wanted by other clubs, which will make it difficult for Bayern to compete financially.
