Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Brighton want Oxlade-Chamberlain

Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is wanted by Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion, reports the Daily Mail.

The 29-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and is set to move on.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has struggled to establish himself in Liverpool’s starting XI since he joined them from Arsenal in 2017.

He has started just 15 Premier League games over the last three terms and was linked with a move to Brighton in January.

However, it fell through as the Seagulls were unwilling to pay Liverpool any transfer fee.

They will return for Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer but face stiff competition from Newcastle and Villa.

Some Serie A clubs are also keeping tabs on the former Southampton man.

However, remaining in the Premier League could be more appealing.

Both Newcastle and Brighton could be playing in Europe next season.

They and Liverpool are firmly in the race to finish in fourth, and Oxlade-Chamberlain could make a decision based on that.

Having struggled for regular playing chances under Jurgen Klopp, the Englishman would love to be given guarantees of regular football before choosing his next club.

The availability of Champions League football or any other European competition should afford him more minutes at Newcastle or Brighton.

Villa are also a solid option as manager Unai Emery wants to turn his side into frequent challengers for the top six.

The Spaniard could do with the experience and quality of Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The Liverpool man will not be short of suitors in the summer given his huge experience.

He will be expected to take his time before making a decision.
