Atalanta and Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund has been one of the most in-form strikers in Europe since the turn of the year.
Premier League clubs Arsenal and Newcastle United have spotted his talent and are considering a summer move for him, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
Hojlund joined La Dea from Sturm Graz last summer. He had graduated from FC Copenhagen’s academy, making his first team debut before moving to the Australian Bundesliga club for €1.8 million.
The 20-year-old took his time settling in Italy, but he has got going and looks like quite the talent.
He has bagged seven goals and two assists in 23 league appearances for Atalanta. He has also netted once in two Coppa Italia games.
His impressive form earned him a call-up to the Denmark men’s national football team. They started their 2024 European Championship qualifying campaign with a game against Finland on Thursday.
Hojlund netted a sublime hat-trick to mark his debut. He was electric throughout the game and could have added more.
Besides the Premier League duo, Serie A clubs are also interested in the young striker. Napoli and AC Milan are keeping tabs on his development in Italy.
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen could be on the move this summer. The Partenopei may turn to Hojlund to replace the Nigerian international.
AC Milan need a long-term replacement for Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. They signed Divock Origi on a free transfer, but he has not impressed.
Hojlund will cost interested parties no less than €40 million. He is one of Atalanta’s prized assets, and they’ll want to get as much as possible for the exciting striker.
