New Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel could come for Chelsea coach Anthony Barry

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel could look to lure Anthony Barry away from Chelsea, reports the Telegraph.

The Blues coach and the German worked together while the latter was a manager at Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel rates Barry extremely highly and would love to work with him again.

The 36-year-old joined Chelsea when Frank Lampard was in the Stamford Bridge dugout.

He remained at the club after the Blues legend was sacked and worked closely with Tuchel.

Both won the Champions League together but Barry was not sacked when Chelsea parted with Tuchel.

He became a member of Graham Potter’s first-team staff and it is unknown whether he would be open to moving to Bayern.

Chelsea could also prevent the Bavarian boss from speaking with Barry about the job.

The former Yeovil Town midfielder also works in a part-time coaching role with the Portugal national side.

The coach once worked for the Republic of Ireland and was part of Roberto Martinez’s backroom staff at the Qatar World Cup.

He has reunited with the Spaniard in Portugal and Chelsea could fight to hold on to him.

Barry was linked with the Queens Park Rangers job and was also interviewed by Wolverhampton Wanderers before they appointed Julen Lopetegui.

Bayern parted with Julian Nagelsmann today and immediately announced Tuchel as his successor.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager was sacked by the Blues last September.

He won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup alongside the Champions League in 2021.

Chelsea also reached the final of the FA Cup twice and the final of the Carabao Cup once under Tuchel but lost all three.

He was fired seven games into the current season after falling out with the new owners.
