Chelsea have agreed to an all-star charity match for Ukraine to be played at Stamford Bridge in August, according to the Evening Standard.
Club co-owner Todd Boehly has provisionally agreed to allow Football for Ukraine to play an American-type all-star match featuring Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk and Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Other Ukrainian players in England, including Everton’s Vitaliy Mykolenko and Bournemouth’s Illya Zabarnyi, will also participate in the game.
The organisers are hoping to attract other big names from the Premier League and other top European competitions.
There have been talks for the game to happen in the first two weeks of August and must be staged before the Premier League kicks off.
Former Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko is heavily involved in the project.
Zinchenko set up the charity Football for Ukraine alongside business partner Artemy Ryabov after Russia invaded Ukraine last year.
The aim of the charity is to help raise funds and awareness about the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
They also help displaced refugees in the United Kingdom and send supplies back home.
The charity has the support of Chelsea, the Arsenal Foundation, Puma, Nike and Common Goal.
Chelsea have also agreed to face Shakhtar Donetsk at the Donbass Arena in Ukraine when the war ends.
Shakhtar president Rinat Akhmetov brought the idea up when Chelsea negotiated with them for Mudryk as they closed a deal for around £88 million.
Akhmetov said he would donate around £20 of the transfer fee to soldiers fighting the Russian invasion.
Despite signing for the Blues in January, Mudryk has failed to justify his hefty price tag. His first appearance was a promising cameo against Liverpool, but he has not kicked on.
Mudryk managed his first goal contribution for Chelsea in his sixth game against Leicester City in a 3-1 win. He gave a headed knockdown that Mateo Kovacic smashed into the next.
Despite the player impressing as the game went on, he did not feature in the next match against Everton.
