Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has weighed in on the future of Davide Frattesi, stating that he is expecting more offers for the midfielder this summer.
The Italian midfielder’s future has been a subject of speculation for a while, with AS Roma and Juventus hot on his trail.
Frattesi was linked with a move to Roma last summer and in the winter transfer window but to no avail.
Considered one of the best young midfielders in Serie A, Frattesi is keen on leaving the Neroverdi for the next big step in his career, and his dreams could be fulfilled in the summer.
Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, Carnevali addressed the speculation, stating that more important offers would be on the cards for the Italian international.
The Neroverdi chief also revealed that Roma came close to signing Frattesi in the past. He also handed Giallorossi a huge boost in their pursuit, stating that he shares a great relationship with the club.
Carnevali also believes that Frattesi has the capability to play for some of the top Premier League clubs.
“We know that Frattesi may receive important offers, which was also the case last year,” Carnveli said (h/t Roma Press).
“It’s true that Roma got very close to him – among other things we have an excellent relationship with the Giallorossi, especially considering our past deals including the likes of (Riccardo) Marchizza, (Lorenzo) Pellegrini and (Matteo) Politano.
“Due to his characteristics, I think Frattesi is a player who can also aspire to the top level of the Premier League. I have no doubt that there will be some heated talks for him this coming summer.”
West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs credited with an interest in Frattesi.
Serie A giants Juventus have identified the 23-year-old as a top alternative for Adrien Rabiot if the Frenchman leaves this summer.
Frattesi could cost around €30 million, the fee they demanded from Giallorossi in the winter.
